Congratulations to three of our Y6 boys, who have all passed their entrance exam for Bethany with a drama scholarship and an academic scholarship being awarded as well.

The office has been given a new look with new carpet and blind.
A planetarium is visiting the school early in the term with an interesting show for every class in school.
December 2007
Kindergarten performed their Christmas nativity in the school hall and the pre-prep performed their Nativity at Stonegate village hall
The whole of the Pre -prep went to see The Night Before Christmas at the Trinity Theatre and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Our school party was tremendous fun and lots of thanks go to the kitchen staff who prepared such a feast and all the teachers who served the food.
The school disco was a huge success with everyone having fun. Thanks to FOB for organising it again.
We celebrated our Carol Service at St Peter's Church at the end of term with some wonderful music and singing.

We say hello to our new teacher Mrs Turner.
A busy month with many year groups out on visits. The Year 6 children went to the Houses of Parliament and met their MP and then had a trip on the London Eye. They also had a strenuous day at Arena Pursuits. Y5 went to Herstmonceux science centre and Y4 to Battle Abbey. The whole school raised £200 for Children in Need by dressing up as what they wanted to be when they grew up.

Harvest Festival has taken place at St Peter’s
The swimming pool will be drained and re-lined so it will look spanking new for the Easter reopening. The tennis court has also had new fences placed all round the perimeter.

Two Infant classrooms were refurbished with new desks and chairs.
Playing field extended.
Staff: We said goodbye to Mrs Buss and Mrs Boneham and hello to Miss Margham and Mrs Woodroffe.
FOBs organise Christmas cards designed by the children for printing in time for Christmas. Entries were judged for our annual art competition.

Play area completed and car park fencing erected as additional safety precaution.

Scholarship results just in!
Major academic and drama scholarship awarded to Beechwood Sacred Heart plus a scholarship to St. Leonard's Mayfield School. Congratulations!

Planning underway for a new play area for the children. This will be a tarmaced area at the top end of the car park with games painted on it such as hopscotch. It will be in a gated area and increase the space for the children to play during the winter months. It will not affect any car parking spaces!

We will be holding a bring and buy sale in aid of the Haller Foundation shortly after the start of term, more details to follow, but please do not throw away any toys or games etc.

Thank you to all who attended the Barn Dance, we raised £790. This has gone towards the building of a new junior adventure trail.

The Christmas School Disco was enjoyed by all the children. Many thanks to all the helpers behind the scenes. We raised approx. £200.

Staff recieved first aid training in January. 12 completed / renewed the first aid in schools course and 2 renewed the first aid at work.

Examination results for 2006...
Top scholarship to St Leonard's Mayfield School achieved for the second year running. SATS... 98% achieved level 4 across all 3 subjects with 75% gaining level 5.
